Höfner Verythin bass, antique brown sunburst, made in China 2016. It's hard to separate classic 60s tunes and Höfner basses; there was a time when they reigned supreme. This is a modern reissue, made in China but to a very good standard. The flame maple top has a tasty subtle grain and boasts quietly under the cool antique burst finish. The neck is a classic Hof shape, so it doesn't taper like a standard bass but stays pretty slim and straight the whole way up the neck. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it has a certain charm to it. Tone-wise, this has that thumpy warm lo-fi thickness to it that'll slot right into vintage style tunes... tasty. It takes a particular cool cat to understand the glory of this, but to the right eye, this is certainly a thing of beauty.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has scuffs on both edges, dimples on the back and some minor scuffs on the front around the posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor play wear on the back only. The back has scuffs on the horns, elbow area and back edge. The sides have dimples on both horns and some scuffs near the jack. The front has dimples around the knobs, scuffs around the tailpiece and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing La Bella flatwound strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
