FGN Expert Series Dark Evolution EEL-DE7 Matte Black 2013
FGN Expert EEL-DE7, very black, made in Japan 2013. This is a very mean machine, no doubt about it. FGN is the house brand for major Japanese guitar makers Fujigen Gakki, who used to make Fender Japan and have been making Ibanez Prestige stuff for quite a while now. Their Expert series stuff is pretty high end and fetches plenty of ¥¥¥ brand new. This one is kinda PRS-flavoured, but with a neck straight from the Prestige RG playbook set into the body. It plays very nicely indeed: the neck is straight, fast and super responsive, and the hardware keeps everything in tune and resonating with gusto. The pickups have been swapped for a set of thick and juicy EMGs, so they deliver the goods: wailing highs and fat punchy mids, with a walloping low end kick. It cleans up remarkably well too. If you're after a quality 7, this delivers the goods.
