Fernandes MY-95 Kiyoshi Black 1998
Fernandes MY-95, black, made in Japan circa 1998. This is the signature model for Kiyoshi, who played for 1990s-era Visual Kei legends Media Youth. It's a pretty unique beast: the body borrows from offset shapes like a Jazzmaster, but has horns that look a bit like a Yamaha Super Flighter, or even a Gibson SG. It's got a 24.75" scale, 24-fret neck, carved to a slim fast C, similar in shape to stuff by ESP and things of that ilk. It's awesome to play: stable and sturdy, lightweight and fast... so fun. The pickups are passive humbuckers: medium hot, nice and clear up top, heaps of growl and presence through the mids. It's a great rock guitar, there's a lot to dig into. I've nicknamed this one 'Goth Gumby'.
