Yamaha SA900 semi hollow, very shiny black, made in Taiwan 1986. What a sleek, stealthy, sassy machine this is. Vintage Yamaha hollows are a big favourite around here, and it's not for no reason: the build quality, feel and tone are outstanding. This is no exception, it's very similar in feel and finish to the Japanese made offerings made slightly earlier in the decade. The gloss black is in brilliant shape, there's really barely any major wear to be seen... it really doesn't look like a 32+ year old guitar. The neck is moderate in profile, similar to a '59 style Les Paul neck, and the luxurious ebony board feels great under the fingers. Plugged in, this has a lively, articulate, warm and expressive voice that easily switches from a whisper to a growl; it's brilliantly sweet when clean and perfectly nasty when dirty. This will give guitars selling at five times the price a very good scare, it's very tasty indeed. Plus, it's sleek dark looks will perfectly complement your black soul.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has a couple of little marks on the end, the neck is fairly clean with only minor dimples. There's some light buckle rash around the back of the body, no major gashes though. There's some light marks on the binding on the bottom edge. The front is pretty clean, just some dimples near the switch and some light play scratches. Guard is missing. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear, they're in great shape, 8/10. Setup with fresh 11/49s.
