Maxon's Elements series re-creates some famous fuzz circuits from the past, re-housed in handy modern boxes with easy controls, modern power and no dramas. The FF10 'Fire' is a tribute to the Roland Bee Baa fuzz, which is a Muff-esque thick salty number with a generous sustain and fat lows. The notch control switches the tone to a super nasty, nasal mid-scooped sound, almost like a cocked-wah-and-fuzz combo, perfect for giving solos a precocious poke. It's a terrific fuzz, and hard to find around here.
