Greco LGB-700 LP Style Bass Silver 2000

Greco LGB-700 LP style bass, silver sparkle, made in Japan circa 2000. These don't come around often, seems like they were made for a year or two and that was it. The LP bass is one of those quirky kinda instruments that comes in and out of vogue; every now and again everyone seems to want one. This take on that shape has some practical appointments: bolt-on neck for stability with an easy-access joint, long scale to add some brightness and punch, hefty bridge and top notch Gotoh tuners for stability... it's got Japanese pragmatism all over it. The silver sparkle finish has yellowed to a light gold hue; it looks super cool and will surely love the stage. Tone wise, the three beefy soapbar style pickups deliver a heap of thick, juicy mids and lows. My favourite tone is to dial down the middle pickup but max out the neck and bridge pickups; that gives you a big fat thump with just a smidge of grindy goodness on the top. There's a lot to like here; it's a cool little oddity and would've been quite pricey new in it's day. You've already got silver pants to match, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and a sticker fade mark on the back, no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a small chip and a couple of scuffs along the belly carve. The sides are pretty clean, just some minor dimples in the elbow area and the jack. The front is pretty tidy, just a couple of minor dimples around the bridge and some play wear on the top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear, they're pretty tidy; 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing 45/105 strings.
