Greco G-404 Jumbo Acoustic Cherrry Sunburst 1974
Greco G-404, sunburst, made in Japan 1974-5. This is a big bodacious beauty, it's quite something. We've had plenty of Greco electric guitars through from the mid 1970s, but the acoustics are a bit harder to come by. This one references the iconic Gibson J-200 jumbo, so you get the oversized body, flame maple back and sides, spruce top, inlays and binding aplenty and gold tuners to cap it off. The construction is all solid: that maple is outrageous, I hate to think how much it would costs these days. It looks amazing: the cherry burst has mellowed with the decades, and the binding and cloud inlays have all aged to match, and it's gorgeous. The sound is equally impressive: crisp and snappy up top, dry and complex through the mids and rounded and warm in the bass. We've never had one of these through the shop before, and it might be a while before we see another one, so think quick if you're jazzed up about it.
