Fender Japan Inoran Jazzmaster Black 2016
Fender Inoran Jazzmaster, black, made in Japan 2016. Inoran is the founder and guitarist of huge J-rock band Luna Sea. The recipe: take the MIJ Classic 60s Jazzmaster model, add a set of American Vintage '65 JM single coil pickups, some top-hat style knobs and a USA made anodized gold guard... oh boy, it looks super classy! This one has also been re-wired with deluxe wire, CTS pots and a hefty orange drop cap. It's sounding superb: crisp, clear as day, chiming treble that'll cut through a mix just right balanced by a warm and immediate low-end. These AV pickups are more 'vintage correct' than the regular MIJ examples, so this has got a certain breathiness and brightness through the midrange and a more nuanced, articulate attack than a standard model. It feels awesome in the hands: we set it up with a small neck shim to get the break angle over the bridge popping just right and set the action nice and low, so you really get the best out of the slim C style neck. It's hard to ignore on the wall of the shop, it really is a superbly classy looking contraption. Gorgeous!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock and neck are pretty clean, no major marks. Back has a couple of minor scuffs and dimples, no major marks. The sides have no major marks. The front is also nice and tidy, just a couple of dimples on the elbow area and some play wear on the top horn. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets some minor wear, 7.5/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s and playing nicely!
