Huh, what a thing! We love Canopus here and these snare drums are shining examples of why. They have a real thin 4mm maple ply shell which makes for ridiculous sensitivity and articulation. It also means you get tone and shell activity at low dynamics. The vintage pearl finish just looks unreal too. The double-45° bearing edges here are a minimal contact style approach which makes for a singing open tone. A range of tunings work brilliantly here and when tuned high, it doesn't choke out quite like other maple snares. Instead, what you get is a sparkly and superbly musical tone that jazz players would die for... well, they certainly can't pay for it.

Additional Notes: The throw is smooth and doesn't get stuck. The snare wires and heads are in relatively good condition with a couple dimples on the snare side head. There is some light surface damage on the hoops and lugs. The badge has some marking present. The shell is in very good condition with no noticeable damage. Overall: very good condition (7/10)
